CONCEPT DESIGN
Concept design deals with primary and secondary substation catchment plan and provides the input for the final design to follow.

In the predefined master plan (assuming master planner did not use Master pan module) the Concept Design module improves proposed substation number and selects the best combination of plots and substation type to achieve an overall minimum cost.

For example in a master plan having 13 plots allocated, and the scheme requires only 11 substations (driven by the load and number of connection points and substation specifications) with the possibility to use single or double transformer substations, there are 2341 combinations to try.
Obviously such a task is out of reach for manually completed design.

Therefore the outcome is solely dependent on designer choice and resolution is as good as a designer guess.
However, the SOVE4.5 Concept Design module does just that!
For all 2341 cases, the software provides preliminary design and select technically acceptable and commercially the best case scenario.
The outcome of the module is SS location and catchment areas.
